Belaynesh is 12 years old a grade one student, due to not currently being able to attend school. She is from the Amhara region, an area slightly north of the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, where she currently lives.
She loves all food, but her favorite food is injera. She loves to watch movies and play with her friends. After finishing school, she would like to become a teacher.
Belaynesh and her family are now living in Addis Ababa because they were displaced from their home due to the ongoing war in northern Ethiopia. She is currently living with her mom and her younger brother. Belaynesh and her family lost her dad due to the war.
Belaynesh is seeking sponsorship due to poverty. Her mom is not working since moving to Addis Ababa, and has no income to support her family or pay for her school fees, so Belaynesh is not attending school. Sponsorship will help provide her basic needs such as food, medical supplies, and clothing, as well as pay her school fees, allowing her to attend school.
